I’d heard my Wolverine story was reprinted in yesterday’s Post. I had not heard it was ON THE DAMN COVER.

I heard they’re killing off Wolverine in response to Mike’s article

I’ve been keeping a secret from you, but now it’s for really real: The Dilettantes are coming to Europe, courtesy of Rogner & Bernhard. The plan is to crash a few hostels, try real absinthe (“not that watered-down North American shit”), and just generally do some soul-searching, you know?
I am so happy about this.
(Which reminds me: Quebec! America! England! I would very much like to let my 22-year-olds loose on your bookshelves, too, if you’re into it. Are you into it? I hope you’re into it.)

If this is released in Germany before I get there this year, you better believe I’m picking that shit up.

Sloan - “Coax Me” (Twice Removed; Murderecords; 1994)

If I drink concentrated O.J.,
Can I think Consolidated’s okay?
It’s not the band I hate—it’s their fans.
Three cans of water perverts me.

I love Sloan and Merlin

This only makes me think of the Templeton.

Drugs, alcohol, and caffeine fuel much of the activity, and sex is something more bragged about than actually engaged in. But Hingston’s strength is in dramatizing how lost and confused these young people are in a world fixated on surface appearances. And he does it all with a delicious sense of humour, eviscerating his characters’ extended adolescence while creating sympathy for their attempt to find a place in the world.

September 10 is coming.

My friend Mike has a book coming out. I suggest you read it.
